Weingut Kranz is located in Ilbesheim, in the sunny southern Pfalz region. This family estate cultivates its vineyards with immense respect for nature. Son Xaver, a third-generation winemaker, now works alongside his father Boris, marking a new chapter for the winery.
This Riesling is their 'Gutswein' or the estate's entry-level wine, forming the backbone of their range. It perfectly showcases what the family stands for: impeccable quality and a pure expression.
The Riesling grapes here grow on cool, windy slopes, which is essential for the grape to retain its refreshing acidity. After careful manual harvesting, the wine is cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks to maximize its fruity character.
On the nose, you immediately detect classic aromas, and on the palate, the wine is clean, invigorating, and beautifully dry. This is by no means a sweet or heavy wine; rather, it is athletic, juicy, and extraordinarily elegant.
Classically served with Wiener Schnitzel. Also excellent with Asian dishes, light fish dishes, or simply as an aperitif.
