At López de Heredia, everything revolves around time, patience, and absolute quality. The grapes come from their own vineyards, such as the iconic Viña Tondonia, where calcareous soils and a unique microclimate produce grapes of great finesse and structure. Only in truly exceptional vintages are the best grapes selected for the production of a Gran Reserva. This guarantees a wine with exceptional aging potential and complexity.
What truly makes this Gran Reserva special is its extremely long aging process. The wine spends years in oak barrels, around 10 years, followed by a very long bottle aging in the cellars of the estate. This traditional method creates a unique style: refined, layered, and fully integrated. The result is an elegant wine with soft tannins, subtle spice, and a long, lingering finish. A prime example of classic Rioja.
