The grapes for the Viña Cubillo come from the Viña Cubillas vineyard. Although this is officially the winery's Crianza, the wine matures for no less than 3 years in old American oak barrels that they make in their own cooperage! After that, it matures for years in the bottle in the cellars before being released.
The result is unique in the world: a wine that is perfectly ready to drink upon release. Don't expect a powerhouse or an oak bomb, but an elegant red wine with the typical Tondonia nose of dried cherries, spices, cedar wood, and a velvety finish. This is pure nostalgia in a glass and unbeatable in terms of price-quality for those who love classic Rioja.
